Gopher Models N Scale XPT – Sound Decoder Kit

Sound Decoder Kit for the Gopher Models N Scale XPT sets, loaded with the same project as the factory sound fitted models.

All Gopher Model XPT sets in DC analogue format feature a Next18 socket in both power cars, and a speaker in the motorised power car, making them very easy to convert to DCC sound, even if you’ve never fitted a DCC decoder to a model before. Each XPT set comprises of two power cars and either 1 or 5 passenger cars. Of these two power cars, one is motorised and the other is un-motorised, what we refer to as a ‘dummy’ power car. The motorised power car is able to accept a Next18 DCC sound decoder, the dummy power car is able to accept a Next18 DCC function-only decoder (this is to control the lighting; headlights, marker lights and ditch lights).

We have given the option of purchasing the full kit (sound decoder + function-only decoder) or just the sound decoder. It is not essential to use the function-only decoder in the dummy power car, when placed on DCC track without this decoder all lights will illuminate, without any harm, just without any control.

Please follow the decoder installation instructions supplied within the XPT box, all that is required is to unclip the body shell of the motorised XPT power car, no tools required!
